IIT Madras Fellowship 2026: PhD Candidates Can Apply, Check Requirements
IIT Madras Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2026 is open for PhD holders seeking research opportunities.
The fellowship allows researchers to continue advanced research work at IIT Madras.
Candidates can apply within five years of completing their PhD.
The maximum age limit is 32 years on the date of joining.
SC, ST and women candidates get five years of age relaxation.
OBC-NCL candidates are eligible for three years of age relaxation.
Applicants must have at least two Q1 journal papers as the primary contributor.
Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis can also apply, subject to the required conditions.
First, applicants must identify an IIT Madras faculty member in their research area and obtain consent.
Eligible candidates will present their research proposal and expertise in a departmental seminar.
Shortlisted candidates will face the Institute Selection Committee interview before final approval.
The fellowship is initially for one year and can be extended, with a minimum tenure of two years based on performance.
