All About The Weather Woman of India (ANNA MANI)

Anna Mani was born in Kerala to an affluent Syrian-Christian family.

She was inspired by Gandhi and the nationalist movement wearing only Khadi till her death.

She worked as a researcher under Sir CV Raman and went on to specialise in meteorological instruments from London's Imperial College

She has set up a meteorological observatory and an instrumentation tower at the Thumba rocket launching facility.

She also pioneered the research to utilise solar and wind power as renewable sources of energy in over 700 sites.
