Ex-Agniveer Recruitment 2026: 20% Quota Proposed in Police, Fire Services
Delhi Government Plans Direct Recruitment for Ex-Agniveers in Police, Fire Services and Home Guards.
The proposed policy aims to create a direct pathway for former Agniveers entering Delhi government public safety services.
Under the proposal, eligible ex-Agniveers may be recruited without traditional written examinations or physical efficiency tests.
The initiative is being developed under the guidance of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, with the first Agniveer cohort completing four years in December 2026.
The Delhi Government is considering a 20% horizontal reservation for ex-Agniveers in the specified departments.
The proposed reservation would operate within the existing reservation framework covering SC, ST, OBC, EWS and general categories.
Ex-Agniveers may also receive age relaxation to account for the time spent in military service.
Along with a proposed five-year central relaxation, Delhi is considering an additional three years, potentially taking the total relaxation to eight years.
The proposed recruitment could initially fill vacancies reserved for ex-Agniveers; unfilled posts may later move to the general recruitment pool.
The plan is still under consideration. It will take effect only after the necessary recruitment-rule amendments are approved and officially notified.
