26-year-old Abhilasha Barak from Haryana becomes Indian Army’s first woman combat aviator

She has been awarded the coveted 'wings' along with 36 Army pilots at Combat Army Aviation Training School in Nashik.

Captain Barak is an alumnus of The Lawrence School, Sanawar.

The combat aviator is the daughter of Col S Om Singh (Retd).

She completed her graduation in B Tech in ECE from Delhi Technological University in 2016

In 2018, she was commissioned into the Indian Army from the Officers Training Academy, Chennai.

Captain Abhilasha has done a number of professional military courses before joining the Army Aviation Corps
