Indian Railways does not recruit Vande Bharat Loco Pilots directly.
Candidates must first join as an Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) through RRB.
After gaining experience and specialized training, they can operate Vande Bharat trains.
ALP applicants must have Class 10 plus ITI or a Diploma/Degree in relevant engineering fields.
The required age limit is generally 18 to 30 years, along with strict medical fitness.
The starting basic pay for an Assistant Loco Pilot is ₹19,900.
The monthly in-hand salary of an ALP is usually around ₹35,000–₹40,000 with allowances.
Experienced Vande Bharat Loco Pilots can earn ₹1 lakh or more per month.
They also receive DA, HRA, Running Allowance, medical benefits, pension, travel concessions, and promotion opportunities.
