The technology was successfully used during the exam held on May 24, 2026.
The system verifies candidates against their application photographs.
Face authentication was implemented across 2,072 examination centres.
Invigilators used standard Android smartphones for verification.
Authentication took only 6–8 seconds per candidate.
The system handled nearly 12,000 verifications per minute during peak hours.
Out of 8.19 lakh applicants, around 5.49 lakh candidates appeared.
The solution was developed by UPSC with support from NeGD.
