MPT and MOT Degrees Will No Longer Be Awarded Under a Generic Title

The New Rule Will Apply to Students Admitted From the 2026-27 Academic Session

MPT Specializations Include Musculoskeletal Sciences, Neurosciences, Sports Sciences & Pediatrics

MPT Also Includes Cardiovascular & Pulmonary, Oncology, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Community Rehabilitation Sciences

MOT Specializations Include Neurosciences, Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Geriatrics & Hand Sciences

Both MPT and MOT Programs Will Have a Minimum Duration of Two Years With a Bachelor’s Degree Required for Admission

Students Admitted Before 2026-27 Will Continue to Receive Degrees Under the Earlier Regulations

The UGC Amendment Also Adds or Revises Several Allied Healthcare Degrees, Including Medical Laboratory Science & Emergency Medical Technology

33 New Allied Healthcare Programs & 21 Revised Programs Aim to Standardize Degree Names, Duration & Eligibility Criteria
