September Salary 2026: Salary to Be Credited on September 25
The Centre has decided to disburse September 2026 salary, wages and pensions in advance on September 25, 2026.
Why the Early Payment? The Controller General of Accounts issued an order citing the proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30.
The advance payment is intended to ensure that salary and pension payments are completed before the period affected by the proposed bank strike.
The order covers Central Government employees and pensioners, including personnel in Defence, Postal and Telecommunications departments.
Central Government industrial workers will also have their wages disbursed on September 25 under the order.
Pensioners Included: Pensions of retired Central Government employees will also be processed for payment on September 25 through the banking and Pay & Accounts Office system.
This Is an Advance Payment: The September 25 payment will be treated as the advance disbursement for the month.
October Adjustment: Any salary-related increase, allowance, arrears or other amount that becomes due after the advance payment can be adjusted in the following month's salary, subject to the applicable rules.
Key Date: September 25, 2026 — Central Government employees, workers and pensioners covered by the order should check their salary or pension accounts accordingly.
