PM Internship Scheme 2026: Eligibility, Stipend, How to Apply & Complete Details
The PM Internship Scheme (PMIS) was launched by the Centre to improve youth employability and workplace exposure.
The scheme aims to provide internship opportunities to one crore young people over five years.
Selected candidates get practical workplace training to improve job readiness and skills.
The pilot phase started in 2024–25 with a target of 1.25 lakh internship opportunities.
Young people who are not in full-time employment can apply under the scheme.
Candidates trained at ITIs and skill development centres are eligible to apply.
Graduates from IITs, IIMs and qualifications like CA and CMA are not eligible.
Eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal — PM Internship Scheme portal.
Internships will run for 12 months, with at least half the period dedicated to hands-on work experience.
Selected interns receive a monthly stipend, financial support for expenses and insurance benefits.
