NEET UG 2026: 4 States Account for 41% of India’s Medical Aspirants
NEET UG 2026 saw 22.7 lakh registrations across India this year.
Over 22 lakh students appeared for the medical entrance examination nationwide.
The overall attendance rate in NEET UG 2026 stood at 96.9 per cent.
Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest participation with nearly 3.6 lakh candidates.
Maharashtra followed with around 2.2 lakh NEET UG aspirants this year.
Rajasthan registered close to 2 lakh candidates for NEET UG 2026.
Bihar contributed nearly 1.5 lakh medical aspirants to the national exam pool.
These four states together accounted for nearly 41.4 per cent of registrations.
Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala also reported strong participation numbers.
The top nine states alone contributed nearly three-fourths of all NEET aspirants.
Gujarat recorded the highest attendance rate at an impressive 98.1 per cent.
