Namo Drone Didi Scheme: Benefits, Eligibility and Subsidy Details
The Central Government approved the scheme with an outlay of ₹1,261 crore for the period 2023–24 to 2025–26.
The scheme aims to provide drones to 15,000 selected women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for agricultural rental services.
Financial Assistance: Eligible selected SHGs can receive 80% of the drone package cost, up to a maximum of ₹8 lakh.
Agricultural Services: The drones are intended to help farmers spray liquid fertilisers and pesticides efficiently.
Training Support: One SHG member receives 15 days of drone pilot training, while another member or family member receives five days of drone assistant training.
Income Opportunities: Women’s SHGs can provide drone rental services to farmers, creating opportunities to diversify rural livelihoods.
How to Get Information: Contact your local Self-Help Group federation or rural livelihood mission office to check eligibility, selection procedures and implementation status.
The scheme targets selected women’s SHGs, not individual applicants seeking a free drone. The approved scheme period runs through 2025–26, so check with the relevant authorities for current implementation and any further updates.
