Lek Ladki Yojana 2026: Girls to Get ₹1.01 Lakh, Eligibility & How to Apply

Maharashtra’s Lek Ladki Yojana offers eligible girls financial assistance of up to ₹1.01 lakh, with payments released at different stages from birth to adulthood.

The scheme is designed to support girls’ education, empowerment and financial security, especially for eligible families holding yellow or orange ration cards.

Under the scheme, the total ₹1.01 lakh benefit is distributed in five stages instead of being paid as a single amount.

After the girl’s birth, the family can receive ₹5,000 as the first instalment under the scheme.

Admission to Class 1 brings ₹6,000, while admission to Class 6 provides another ₹7,000 in financial assistance.

At admission to Class 11, an eligible girl can receive ₹8,000, taking the support received at earlier stages to ₹26,000.

The biggest payment is ₹75,000 after the beneficiary completes 18 years, taking the total scheme benefit to ₹1,01,000.

To qualify, the family must meet Maharashtra’s prescribed conditions, including residence, eligible ration-card, income and applicable birth-date requirements.

The application process has been simplified through Maharashtra’s Aaple Sarkar digital platform, reducing the need for repeated visits to government offices.

Aadhaar-based verification and e-KYC can make the process easier, while parents should ensure that names, dates of birth and bank details are accurate.

Eligible beneficiaries can receive the approved financial assistance through Direct Benefit Transfer, so Aadhaar and bank-account details should be correctly linked and active.

Parents should verify the latest eligibility rules and required documents on the official Maharashtra government platform before applying, and never share Aadhaar, bank details or OTPs with unknown agents.
