Home Guard Recruitment 2026: 772 Posts, Eligibility & Apply Dates

Vacancies: The recruitment drive includes 635 Rural Home Guard posts and 137 Urban Home Guard posts.

Women’s Reservation: 50% of posts in both categories are reserved for women, with 5% of the women’s quota earmarked for widows, divorcees and abandoned women.

Candidates with technical skills can apply for Urban Technical posts such as driver, computer operator, typist, electrician, plumber, carpenter, cook, nurse and other listed roles.

Physical Standards: Minimum height is 162 cm for eligible male General/OBC/BC candidates, 157 cm for SC/ST men and 148 cm for women, along with prescribed chest standards for men.

Selection Process: Candidates will undergo physical tests including running, high jump, long jump and shot put, followed by a Hindi writing test.

The Hindi writing test carries 100 marks, with candidates required to score at least 30 marks; Urban Technical applicants will also face a technical proficiency test.

Application Fee: ₹100 for all categories; apply online from October 11, upload the required documents, pay the fee and keep a printout of the submitted application for future reference.
