Fire Service Recruitment 2026: 10,743 Vacancies Approved, Selection Process & Post-Wise Details
Union Home Ministry has approved recruitment for 10,743 DFS vacancies.
The proposal is now awaiting final approval from the Delhi Government.
After approval, DSSSB will release the official recruitment notification.
The selection process is expected to include a written examination.
Selected candidates must complete Delhi Fire Service training first.
Deployment to fire stations will happen only after successful training.
Major vacancies include Fire Operators, Emergency Rescue, and MTS posts.
Fire Operator vacancies alone account for 3,823 posts.
Emergency Rescue Wing will recruit 3,546 personnel.
The recruitment also includes 1,153 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts.
The hiring aims to address Delhi Fire Service's manpower shortage.
Several recent fatal fire incidents highlighted the urgent need for more staff.
Delhi reported over 12,000 fire incidents in the first half of 2026.
