CUET UG 2027: One Student, One Day Exam Pattern Proposed; Check Major Changes

Under the proposal, students could complete all their selected CUET UG subject papers on a single allotted exam day.

The duration of each paper may be reduced from the current 60 minutes to around 40–45 minutes.

With shorter papers, the number of questions could fall from 50 to around 35–40 questions per subject.

NTA and UGC are reportedly considering reducing the maximum number of subjects students can choose from five to four.

If four 40-minute papers are taken, the total test time could be around 160 minutes, or 2 hours 40 minutes.

Changes to the General Test are also being considered, with a more uniform approach across universities possible under the revised system.

Currently, CUET UG allows candidates to select up to five subjects, with the exam conducted in computer-based mode.

The proposed reforms aim to reduce exam fatigue, repeated travel and expenses for students appearing for multiple subjects.

Important: These CUET UG 2027 changes are still proposals and have not been officially finalised; students should wait for the NTA notification for the confirmed pattern.
