Board Exam 2027: New Exam Pattern for Classes 11 & 12, Check Major Changes
UP Board Exam 2027: New examination pattern introduced for Classes 11 and 12.
The new exam system will begin with Class 11 from the 2026-27 academic session.
Written exams will carry 80 marks, while 20 marks will be awarded through internal assessment.
For practical subjects, the practical component will be reduced from 30 marks to 20 marks.
Non-practical subjects will also include a 20-mark internal assessment under the revised pattern.
35% of questions in Classes 11 and 12 will focus on application-based assessment.
The new assessment framework will give greater weight to application, analysis, evaluation and creativity.
Questions from every unit will be compulsory, with specified weightage assigned to each unit.
External choice will be removed, while long-answer questions will include internal choices from the same unit.
Students should prepare every unit thoroughly as the new pattern focuses on analytical, evaluative and creative skills.
