BCCI Central Contracts 2026: Who’s In, Who’s Up, Who’s Out
BCCI has announced the Central Contract List for the 2026 season.
The contract system has been simplified, with A+ removed, leaving only A, B and C categories.
Senior stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have moved from A+ to B, marking a one-tier drop.
Despite the downgrade, Kohli and Rohit remain in the second-highest contract category.
Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill has effectively been promoted to the top Category A.
Players like Kuldeep Yadav, Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal stay in Category B, now the second-highest tier.
All-rounder Axar Patel remains in Category C for the 2026 season.
Washington Sundar records the biggest rise, jumping two contract categories.
Several players including Sarfaraz Khan, Mohammed Shami and Ishan Kishan miss out due to no appearances.
