APPSC ASO Recruitment 2026: 196 Assistant Statistical Officer Vacancies, Salary & Eligibility

Total Vacancies: 196 | Pay Scale: ₹37,640 – ₹1,15,500 per month.

Candidates must have a recognised degree with Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce or Computer Science as specified in the notification.
Candidates with Statistics as a major subject or those who studied Statistics as a paper along with the specified degree subjects may be eligible.
Paper I: General Studies & Mental Ability — 150 questions and 150 marks | Paper II: Common Subject (Education) — 150 questions and 150 marks.
The written examination includes negative marking, with 1/3 mark deducted for every incorrect answer.
