UPSC Prelims 2026 Strategy: How to Score High in GS Paper-1

Know the syllabus deeply. Read it weekly. UPSC repeats themes, not questions.

Solve 10 years of previous year papers. Identify question patterns and favourite topics.

Build NCERT foundation. Complete Class 6–12 NCERTs for History, Geography, Polity, Economy.

Follow the 3-book rule: One main book + one supplementary + Current Affairs.

Daily Current Affairs: SAKSHIEDUCATION.COM in 30 minutes. No notes. Use monthly CA PDFs.

Revise using the 5-3-1 rule: 5 revisions per chapter, 3 per subject, 1 final revision.

Attempt 60+ mock tests: Sectional + GS + CSAT. Analyse mistakes.

Use elimination techniques for uncertain MCQs. Improve accuracy.

Don't ignore CSAT. Practice RC, maths, reasoning regularly.

Last 30 days: Revise all mock test mistakes + maps + schemes + environment species.

Daily plan: 8–10 hrs with mix of GS study, CA, MCQs, CSAT & revision.

Consistency + revisions + elimination = High score in Prelims 2026.
