SSC CGL 2026 Vacancies Reduced to 10,731; Check Category-Wise Posts & Exam Dates
SSC has revised the CGL 2026 vacancies after receiving final vacancy details from various central government departments.
The recruitment was initially announced for 12,256 posts, but the final vacancy count has been reduced by 1,525 to 10,731.
More than 30 lakh candidates have applied for SSC CGL 2026, with 3,094,823 registrations recorded.
Final Category-wise Vacancies: UR – 4,412 | OBC – 2,772 | EWS – 1,028 | SC – 1,715 | ST – 804.
CBIC has the highest number of vacancies with 3,687 posts, including Inspector, Executive Assistant and Tax Assistant positions.
CBDT has announced 2,421 vacancies, including Income Tax Inspector, Office Superintendent and Tax Assistant posts.
SSC CGL 2026 Tier-1 Exam: The computer-based examination will be conducted from September 30 to October 30, 2026.
Admit cards will be available around four days before the respective exam date, with centre, shift and reporting details.
SSC CGL Tier-2 is proposed for December 2026, while the final merit list will be based on Tier-2 performance and post-wise eligibility.
