National Overseas Scholarship 2026-27: Eligibility, Benefits & Apply Online

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has opened applications for the National Overseas Scholarship 2026-27.

The scheme offers financial support to eligible students pursuing Master's and PhD programmes at universities abroad.

Eligible categories include Scheduled Castes (SC), Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes, landless agricultural labourers and traditional artisan families.

Applicants generally need at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying examination.

Master's applicants must have the required Bachelor's degree, while PhD applicants need the prescribed Master's qualification.

The scholarship has an annual family income limit of ₹8 lakh from all sources, along with applicable age and category conditions.

Selected students can receive financial assistance for tuition fees, living expenses and airfare.

The scholarship may also cover medical insurance, contingency expenses and other approved academic costs.

To apply, candidates must register online on the National Overseas Scholarship portal and enter their personal, academic and financial details.

Applicants may need to provide foreign university and admission-offer details and upload the required documents.
