How to Help Your Child Remember a Chapter in 15 Minutes: 5 Tips
Help your child study smarter, not longer, with simple techniques that improve understanding, memory and recall.
Technique 1: Read and Understand. Spend 3 minutes reading the chapter’s main ideas instead of memorising every sentence.
Technique 2: Highlight Keywords. Identify important terms, dates, formulas and concepts to focus on the essential information.
Technique 3: Use the Feynman Technique. Ask your child to explain the topic in simple words as if teaching a younger student.
Technique 4: Create a Mind Map. Connect key ideas using short notes, branches, arrows or simple drawings.
Technique 5: Practise Active Recall. Close the book and ask your child to recall the main points without looking at the text.
Try a 15-Minute Plan: Read for 3 minutes, identify keywords for 2 minutes, explain for 4 minutes, draw a mind map for 3 minutes and recall for 3 minutes.
Make Revision Fun: Use quick quizzes, flashcards and encouraging questions to help your child practise without pressure.
Remember This: Fifteen minutes can help your child review a short chapter, but difficult topics may need more time and repeated revision.
