How to Get a Duplicate School Marksheet: Step-by-Step Guide for Class 10 & 12

A marksheet is an important document for higher education, jobs and official verification.

Step 1: Report the loss at your local police station and obtain an FIR or Daily Diary Report.

Prepare an affidavit on ₹10 stamp paper stating that your marksheet has been lost.

Step 2: CBSE students can use the Duplicate Academic Document System (DADS) to apply online.

CBSE students who passed after 2009 may be able to apply through DADS without an FIR.

Fill in the required details, upload documents and pay the applicable duplicate-document fee online.

Step 3: Duplicate marksheets are generally processed within 15 to 30 working days, depending on the case.

For older CBSE records or online issues, applicants may need to submit a manual application to the concerned regional office.

Step 4: Before applying, check DigiLocker for a digital marksheet that may be available for download and official use.
