How to Become a Lieutenant in the Indian Army After 12th & Graduation

Pass Class 12 with any recognized stream — Science, Commerce or Arts.

After 12th, you can join through NDA (National Defence Academy).

NDA candidates must clear the UPSC NDA written examination.

After the written test, candidates attend the SSB Interview process.

Medical fitness and physical standards are mandatory for Army selection.

Graduates can join through CDS (Combined Defence Services) examination.

Engineering students can apply through Technical Entry schemes.

NCC cadets may also get direct entry opportunities through NCC Special Entry.
